Scotland has always been a land of stories.
From fairytale castles and battlefields to rugged mountains and islands, these places shape our collective memory and inspire generations. The National Trust for Scotland exists to protect and share them, ensuring they remain part of our lives today and for the future.
At WAG&WOOL, we believe in telling stories too, but through thoughtfully designed knitwear for dogs and their humans. Just like the Trust, we value craftsmanship, sustainability, and a deep respect for nature. That’s why this collaboration feels like such a natural partnership: together, we’re weaving Scotland’s landscapes and legends into every stitch.
Shared values:
Since 1931, the National Trust for Scotland has been caring for some of Scotland’s most iconic houses, castles, gardens, landscapes, islands, and the wildlife and communities that depend upon them. Their work ensures that these treasured places are protected, shared and enjoyed now and by future generations.
At WAG&WOOL, our mission is to craft sustainable dogwear that looks beautiful, feels comfortable, and lasts. By using 100% British wool and working with UK makers, we create timeless pieces while minimising our carbon pawprint. Both organisations believe in slowing down, protecting what matters, and creating joy in everyday life, whether that’s exploring Glencoe or walking your dog in your local park.
The designs:
The collection begins with two iconic Scottish stories, reimagined in wool:
· The Pink Castle Jumper
Inspired by Craigievar Castle in Aberdeenshire, whose striking pink turrets look as though they’ve leapt straight from the pages of a fairytale. This design captures the castle’s unique charm - whimsical yet enduring - and uniquely memorable.
· The Blackface Sheep Jumper
Rooted in the dramatic landscape of the Scottish mountains and munros, this design pays tribute to Scotland’s hardy Blackface sheep, which have grazed its slopes for centuries. It’s a celebration of resilience, heritage, and the natural world that sustains us. WAG&WOOL would not exist without the humble sheep.
Both jumpers feature exclusive artwork by Charlotte Godfrey, who translated these iconic Scottish images into original knitted designs. Each piece is crafted in the UK from pure British wool, with labels woven in Scotland.
Craftsmanship & Connection:
Every jumper and beanie is designed to be as practical as it is beautiful. Wool is naturally insulating, breathable, and water-repellent, far outperforming synthetics. It keeps dogs warm on blustery walks and comfortable well into spring, while also being renewable and sustainable.
Just as the Trust brings Scotland’s heritage to life for millions of visitors each year, these designs bring those stories into everyday moments - walks, cuddles, adventures - shared between people and their dogs.
Why it matters:
This isn’t just knitwear. With each purchase, you’re helping the National Trust for Scotland to protect Scotland’s treasured places. You’re also supporting the wildlife, communities, and future generations who depend on them.
